ABOUT US
At Green Mountain Pet and Tack Supply, we believe every great adventure starts with the animals we love. Founded in 2006, our store was built on a simple idea — our pets deserve the very best. What started as a small shop in Vergennes, founded by Zev Langenauer, has grown into a gathering place for pet owners and riders alike. In 2011, we moved into the former Irwin’s Tack Shop, expanding our space and our offerings to include everything the equestrian community needs. Since then, we’ve been proud to serve animal lovers throughout Addison and Chittenden Counties.
Today, Green Mountain Pet and Tack is so much more than a pet store. In addition to raw and freeze-dried foods to traditional kibble and canned favorites, plus equestrian feed, supplements, treats, and chicken feed we offer a self-serve HydroSurge Pet Wash, a consignment shop for gently used tack and riding apparel, and a wide selection of farm and country needs and dog boarding and training.
More than just a store, we’re proud to be part of this community. We support local equestrian clubs, schools, and pet-related charities, and we’re always learning more about the products we carry so we can share that knowledge with our customers.
At Green Mountain Pet and Tack Supply, we’re here to help you and your animals live life to the fullest—
because this is where your adventure begins.
Welcome to the family!

Zev Langenauer
Owner
Zev has been helping dogs and their humans build better relationships for more than three decades. Passionate about all things pet, he loves sharing his knowledge of nutrition, engaging play, and effective training techniques that bring out the best in every animal.
Zev began offering personalized boarding and training services from his home in 2001. As his reputation grew, so did the demand for trusted products to support his clients’ pets. Recognizing that need, he opened Green Mountain Pet and Tack in 2006. A few years later, in 2011, he expanded into the store’s current location and began proudly serving the local equine community as well.
Whether he’s chatting with customers in the shop or working one-on-one with training clients, Zev’s goal is always the same—to help pets and their people live happier, more harmonious lives.
When he’s not working, you’ll find Zev surrounded by dogs—either playing with those in his care or exploring Vermont’s beautiful trails with his own canine companion.
